Micro-tiller: an agricultural machinery suitable for China’s terrain

Micro-tillers are powered by small diesel or gasoline engines and feature lightweight, compact size, and simple structure. They are widely used in dry land, paddy fields, and orchards in plains, mountainous areas, and hilly regions. Equipped with corresponding tools, micro-tillers can perform operations such as film mulching, sowing, and fertilizing. They can also tow trailers for short-distance transportation. Micro-tillers can move freely in the fields, making them easy to use and store for users. They eliminate the hassle of large agricultural machinery being unable to enter mountainous fields and are the best choice for farmers and consumers to replace oxen tillage.

There are mainly several models of micro-tillers produced and sold domestically in China: multi-functional two-wheel drive micro-tillers, four-wheel drive self-propelled micro-tillers, direct-drive micro-tillers, field management machines, and water-and-dry-use high-box micro-tillers. Most models are powered by air-cooled gasoline engines or water-cooled/air-cooled diesel engines, with belt or chain gearboxes as transmission devices, and equipped with rotary tilling tools with a tilling width of 600-900mm. The price is generally between 2,000 and 5,000 yuan, with good economy, multi-purpose, and support for expanding tools. The structure is relatively simple, suitable for areas with general economic conditions and simpler uses.

Evolution:

After the introduction of micro-tillers to China in 1997, relevant manufacturers made large-scale improvements to the machines. They changed the walking box from aluminum to cast iron, increasing its strength when in contact with the ground and enhancing the overall weight and stability of the machine.

In 2003, with the joint collaborative efforts of various manufacturers in Chongqing and Shandong, this machine finally completed its major structural transformation and was officially launched in large quantities. Most micro-tiller manufacturers use gasoline or diesel engines as power sources. The handle frame can rotate in all directions, and the tilling tools have gradually become diversified and comprehensive, capable of meeting various tilling requirements in different regions (dry land tillers, paddy field wheels, dry land composite tillers (i.e., anti-entanglement tillers), reinforced composite tillers (paddy field tillers), deep tillers, ridge formers, ditchers, rotary plows, fertilizers, mulching devices, etc. have been developed).

Nongbaishun micro-tillage machine, originating in 2005 and established in Shahe Industrial Park, Laizhou, Yantai, Shandong, belongs to the micro-tillage machine, large loader, and tractor industrial belt, enjoying natural advantages of the industrial belt. Equipped with high-quality raw material supply and technical equipment support, it continuously innovates and develops new micro-tillage machines, serving as an important force in ensuring the spring sowing and autumn planting for farmers
